Streets of Parati / Pastel / 17"x23"

They have tried to keep the atmosphere in this little town of Parati, Brazil close to what it must have been in the eighteenth century. Cobbled streets, whitewashed walls and brightly painted doors and windows provide a picturesque setting for the tourists who visit here. When this was given an award in the Pastels USA 2009 Exhibition at the Triton Museum in Santa Clara, California, it qualified me to receive the Pastel Society of the West Coast "Distinguished Pastelist" designation. This title is shared by less than 30 artists nationwide and I'm gratified to be included in such talented company.
