Mariachis of Iguaçu / Pastel / 22"x26"
These musicians were part of a dinner show in the Brazilian town of Foz do Iguaçu at the spectacular falls complex on the river dividing Brazil from Argentina and Paraguay. Their costumes suggest to me they were probably Argentinians.

Iguaçu Falls has been used as backdrop for many movies including "The Mission" with Robert De Niro, James Bond's "Moonraker" and, more recently, the Harrison Ford saga- "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull".

This was shown at the Triton Museum in Santa Clara, California in a Pastels USA National Exhibition in 2009.
