The Final Touch / Pastel / 20"x24"	Rachel is just out of high school and quite a talented ballet dancer. She posed for me in the studio where she studies and, here, she portrays a young dancer in classic tutu putting on her necklass as she prepares for a performance. I had always admired the ballet paintings of the French painter Edgar Degas and thought about trying the subject matter for myself. Rachel has helped me explore the possibilities and I look forward to doing a few more paintings of her.
